Delivery and Set-Up

How do you transport the units?

The transportation of the units depend of the type being moved. Travel trailers are pulled behind a truck and have no restrictions to when and where they are moved. Manufactured homes are transported in one or two sections depending on the type of home. The transportation of these homes and skid units can be subject to restrictions based on the length and width of the unit. Container housing is loaded onto the back of a semi truck and can be transported anywhere the weight limits allow.

What is block, level and anchoring?

Block, level and anchoring is the process of setting and stabilizing a manufacture home. Blocking is the process of stacking concrete blocks to specific heights to ensure the unit is level. Once level, tie downs are attached to the unit and anchored several feet into the ground. This prevents the unit from moving due to high winds, earth quakes or any other cause.

Do I need to have a concrete slab?

No, units can be blocked, leveled, and tied down on soil or gravel. However, it is important to check with your local municipality to verify if they have any requirements.

What utilities are used?

The same utilities are used for temporary housing as traditional housing: water, electric, gas and sewer.

Do the units have to be placed in a mobile home park?

No, the units do not need to be placed within a mobile home park. However, it is important to research if any special permitting is required to place temporary housing on your desired location.
